BBR22: 100 DAYS TO VICTORY

The Canadian Corps would play a decisive role on the road to victory during the last 100 Days of WWI. The Corps advanced from victory to victory as they pushed from Amiens in the pursuit of Mons from 8 August – 11 November 1918. During the last 100 days, 30 Canadians and Newfoundlanders were awarded the Victoria Cross.

The triumph would, however, come at a high price. Canadians and Newfoundlanders suffered 45,835 casualties including more than 6,800 killed. Included in that number was Canadian, Pvt. George Lawrence Price, who was struck in the chest by a sniper’s bullet as he emerged from the doorway of a house in a small Belgian village. He died at 10:58 a.m. on November 11th, 1918, a mere two minutes before hostilities ceased.
BR22: 100 Days to Victory will retrace their steps while honouring their service and sacrifice
